Wind Sweeping Down The Plain
I found this aged windmill in a field that had been left untilled for many years. It was weathered and worn, yet still searching, spinning and singing towards the wind.
In order to capture this emotion and feeling, I chose to do a long exposure.
What I love is how the blades of the windmill created this perfect circular pattern, while the "fantail" moved left to right.
I applied a tilt-shift effect to give it more of a vintage feel, while also directing your eye upwards.
I also lucked out with the background. There was some heavy cloud cover all around me, except for a small bit of blue sky in the top right hand corner which adds some visual interest.
